Students of Varna Maritime High School introduced to DERIN project and virtual reality scenarios
At the Technical University of Varna, students were introduced to the international project DERIN (Digital Education Readiness in Maritime and Inland Navigation), on which the educational institution works in partnership with five other European organizations from the Netherlands, Romania, Latvia, Croatia and Estonia. Innovative methods for teaching and conducting practical training in an innovative learning environment with the help of innovative multimedia applications – simulators, virtual and augmented reality applications, digital equipment, etc. were presented.
The students had the opportunity to conduct a practical exercise on the maritime simulators at the university and to work on the platforms with Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) and try the headsets, which allow learning remotely by installing software on personal mobile phones.
